  12. WARNING: do not erase the '!!!', this signals the end of your map.
  13. WARNING: always start at the top-left-hand corner of the editor to begin
  14.          your map (1,1).
  15. WARNING: do not leave areas unwalled that lead to nowhere it will screw
  16.          up for sure. Always keep the whole map enclosed. A door on the
  17.          outside wall of map is not allowed also.

  19. Symbols to use:
  20. '#' : wall; '*' : starting position; '0-9' : door;
  21. 'A-Z' : monsters; 'a-j' : switches;

  23. How to create a map:
  24. The map is broken into 3 parts: the actual MAP, the HELP (this part), and
  25. the unit DESCRIPTIONS and names.
  26.  
  27. a) Draw your map up above starting with (1,1), symbols at top of help.
  28. NOTE: your map can be a max of one screen (80x25) with the '!!!' at the
  29.       end of your map, and the rest stay in the same order (map, help, desc).
  30. b) There are six lines to describe for each unit. Each unit may have a
  31.    description except for the walls. The unit is the space where you can
  32.    walk about.
  33.    The first line is the unit coordinates: (two spaces in between coordinates)
  34.    eg.2  1 (y, x)
  35.    The second line is the name of the unit:
  36.    eg.|09Dungeon Entrance
  37.    The third line is the first line of your description:
  38.    eg.|01You must find your way out of this dungeon and kill all the
  39.    The fourth line is the second line of your description:
  40.    eg.|01monsters you can find.
  41.    The fifth line is the third line of your description:
  42.    eg.|01Good luck!
  43.    The sixth line is the last line of your description:
  44.    eg.|01<no line>
  45. NOTE: the '<no line>' means it will not print out the line in the scene.
  46.       you must put '<no line>' if you want no line.
  47. NOTE: pipe codes may be used in these descriptions to configure your map
  48.       to any color you like. make sure to put the pipe color of the lines
  49.       at the end of the unit name, this provides color sync.
